Full House! A Night of Networking Bingo in Werribee

3 min read

Most people walk into a networking event with the same quiet worry. Who do I talk to first? What if I end up standing by the bar on my own?

On Tuesday 13 October, Wyndham BizNet took that worry off the table. Local business owners came together at The Park Hotel Werribee for Full House Networking Bingo, a speed networking night with a twist. And by the end of it, the room was full of laughter, new contacts and conversations that kept going well after the last round.

Round One: Networking Bingo

Everyone started with a bingo card full of blank squares. The only way to fill them in was to get up, move around the room and find the people who fit each one.

It was a simple idea, but it worked. Within minutes, people who’d never met were comparing cards and chatting about their businesses. The first prize went to the first person to get a classic bingo, and second place went to whoever could fill out their entire card.

Round Two: Conversations That Count

The second round guests were given cards with questions designed to spark real, meaningful conversations, the kind you don’t usually get to in a quick handshake and business card swap.

The goal was twofold. Make a genuine connection with someone new, and learn something you didn’t know about someone you already know. Plenty of members said this was their favourite part of the night.

Round Three: Last Person Standing

To finish, we played Last Person Standing. Everyone stood up, and with each question, anyone who answered yes had to sit down. Questions like “Have you ever sent an email to the wrong people by accident?” had the whole room laughing (and a few people sitting down a little sheepishly).

It came down to the final two, and our winner was decided by one last question: “Have you ever worked in your pyjamas?” That one knocked out our second-to-last person and crowned our champion.

Thank You, Wyndham

A big thank you to everyone who joined us on the night. Events like this only work because people are willing to show up, step out of their comfort zone and say hello.

Thank you also to our committee members, who put the night together and kept everything running smoothly, and to The Park Hotel Werribee for hosting us.
